About the Event
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and while Black women continue to carry so much for our families, communities, workplaces, and churches, many of us are doing so while silently struggling. Black women are disproportionately impacted by chronic stress-related health conditions, including anxiety, depression, hypertension, and heart disease. In fact, studies show that nearly 1 in 4 Black women experience symptoms of anxiety or depression, yet many do not seek support due to stigma, lack of access, or feeling like they have to “stay strong.”
That’s why The DIVA Effect, Inc. in collaboration with Virtue Church is hosting “I’m Not Okay… But I’m Still Faithful” — a virtual 3-part NAMI Sharing Hope Series created specifically for Black women who are tired of carrying it all alone. This is not therapy, but it is a safe and supportive space curated to help Black women feel heard, seen, supported, and connected to resources and next steps…
